South Bay Food Swap Inaugural Event Was A Great Success!

The South Bay Food Swap held its first event, today, at the Honest Abe Cidery and we all had a blast! There was a great turn out of 16 swappers and quite a few guest observers.

The variety of items were fantastic, and many swappers brought more than just one type of food product, so we had plenty for everyone to choose from.

Some of our savory items included: Bacon Jam, Green & Red Salsas, Garlicky pickled jalapenos, Spicy pickled beets, Bread sticks, Cheese and Spice blends.

The sweets were, even more, abundant! It was hard to choose which item to start sampling first! There were homemade Marshmallows and cherry hand pies, Black sesame cheesecake and green tea brownies, Fruit granola bars to die for, and a a multitude of Jams and Cookies.

There were just too, many items for me to list, but I think the most unexpected ones were the little bottles of Kahlua liquor, and the beautifully grown Micro greens.

South Bay Food Swap provided 2 sample flavors (1 cider, 1 Mead) of Honest Abe Cider and people ordered the tasting flight and sampled many other fabulous flavors. Most of us could not resist buying a bottle, or three, to take home and share.

The food was fantastic, the drinks were divine, and the new friendships will be lasting.

I truly hope that everyone will return for our next swap, and if you missed it, join us and bring a friend or loved one.

We'll be waiting for ya! Cheers!
